It’s YOUR year. Time to shoot your shot.

I’m starting to hear a reoccurring theme among my clients and prospective clients.

It sounds something like this…

“I’ve been going with the flow my entire career.

Then I turned (insert milestone birthday).

I realized now that I should have been more thoughtful about my career. Took control of it.

I feel like I wasted all that time.”

It’s not a surprise to hear. I empathize with that feeling because I’ve been there before. You replay all those missed moments where you could have made a different choice and decided not to. You remember the people who entered your life, offering an alternative path or help, but said no because you didn’t feel ready. You think about the time when you thought you were ready, but lack of confidence got in the way of taking that next step.

I get it.

What if I told you that there’s another way of looking at it? What if I told you that they were milestones that helped to prepare you for this wakeup call you’re experiencing right now?

Some people jump right out of bed when the alarm goes off in the morning. And some of us need to hit snooze a few times until we feel ready. Either way, we get up and get going when we feel ready.

Those missed moments and people we encountered served as that alarm clock you hit snooze on. It doesn’t mean that you lost out and will never get that moment back. It meant that you weren’t quite ready to get up yet.

Now that YOU ARE READY, what do you plan on doing about it? What direction do you plan on taking your career in 2023?

It's time to get up and shoot your shot.
